Cedric F. Walker, PhD, PE

Advisor

Dr. Walker is Professor Emeritus of Biomedical Engineering at Tulane University, having served as the Department Chair prior to becoming Maker-In-Chief at Tulane's maker space.

Dr. Walker's areas of specialization include biomedical electronics and manufacturing technology.  His research interests include neural stimulation and implantable monitoring devices.  

In addition to his academic duties, Dr. Walker has served as a consultant to multiple medical device companies and has served as a reviewer for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Center for Devices and Radiological Health. He has also served as a member of the the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation's Neurosurgery Committee Implantable Neurostimulators Working Group, which was responsible for the U.S. adoption of ANSI/AAMI/ISO 14708-3:2008.
