Proof of Concept in Cadaver Study

Near Infrared Reflectometry for detection of spinal cord position was demonstrated in a human cadaver model. This study was published in Neuromodulation August 2015 (Neuromodulation. 2015 Aug;18(6):448-59; discussion 459. doi: 10.1111/ner.12319. Epub 2015 Jun 11.) This study demonstrates the feasibility of using light reflected from the surface of the spinal cord to detect spinal cord position relative to a sensor array in the epidural space.
